About the HEAD Escape Set Alarm Trainer

The Semmco LPS Alarm Trainer provides trainers and users alike with an easy to use version of the audio and visual alarm that features across the range of HEAD Breathing Apparatus.  This unique and life saving feature informs the wearer of the breathing time available when wearing the set.  It alarms at three intervals:

  • when the set is initiated as it is pulled from its packaging.  The alarm will flash and beep 5 times to indicate the set is operational and ready for immediate use
  • 2/3 duration. The intermittent beeps indicate there is 2/3 of oxygen remaining and that the wearer should be leaving the hazardous area. And finally,
  • at the end-of-use of the set. The final constant beep indicates that there is no longer an adequate supply of oxygen for the user and that the set should be removed on the understanding that the wearer is in a safe, non-hazardous environment.

Therefore it is vital that the wearer is familiar with the different intervals and this Alarm Trainer enables them to understand and practice the alarm indicators.

Are there instructions or videos showing how to don and doff the sets?

Yes there are videos on the website that show how to don and doff both the HEAD Sets and the EEBD Sets. Follow this link to see the donning and doffing instructions for the HEAD range and this link to see the donning and doffing instructions for the EEBD range.

Can I get training on how to use the products?

Yes, Semmco LPS provides both full day and half day training sessions depending on the customer’s requirement and the training can be carried out on-site or vitually via video training. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

Does the training session include being able to don and doff the sets?

Yes, Semmco LPS has developed a specific training set that provides the same experience as using the ‘live’ product so that those attending the training courses can become proficient in how to don and doff both the HEAD Escape Sets and the EEBD Escape Sets and feel confident in their capabilities.
