HEAD Escape Training Set FAQS

Can the HEAD Training Set be used multiple times?

Yes, the HEAD Training Set has been designed to be used for multiple training sessions. It can be disinfected after each use using anti-bacterial wipes. If the hood becomes worn or damaged you can send it back for a hood replacement which is a lower cost than buying a new training set.

Can the HEAD training set be disinfected after each use?

Yes, anti-bacterial wipes can be used to clean the HEAD Training Set both inside, including the oro-nasal mask, and outside, after each use. It should be left to dry before repacking into the training set carry case.

Could the training set be mistaken for a ‘live’ set?

It is unlikely the training set could be mistaken for a ‘live’ set as the set and the carry case are clearly labelled for training purposes. The hood is also manufactured from a bright orange material to differentiate it from the ‘live’ sets which has a yellow hood.

Is the training set realistic?

Yes, the training set has been designed to provide a realistic representation of wearing the ‘live’ HEAD Escape and Working Rescue sets. It doesn’t contain any KO2 and the design has been modified so that the person wearing it for training purposes can breathe normally via air vents in the front port. An optional separate Alarm Training unit can be used to demonstrate the audible and visual alarm.

Are there instructions or videos showing how to don and doff the sets?

Yes there are videos on the website that show how to don and doff both the HEAD Sets and the EEBD Sets. Follow this link to see the donning and doffing instructions for the HEAD range and this link to see the donning and doffing instructions for the EEBD range.

Can I get training on how to use the products?

Yes, Semmco LPS provides both full day and half day training sessions depending on the customer’s requirement and the training can be carried out on-site or vitually via video training. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

Does the training session include being able to don and doff the sets?

Yes, Semmco LPS has developed a specific training set that provides the same experience as using the ‘live’ product so that those attending the training courses can become proficient in how to don and doff both the HEAD Escape Sets and the EEBD Escape Sets and feel confident in their capabilities.

Is there technical information about how the set works?

Are the sets easy to put on?

Yes, both the HEAD range and the EEBD range are very simple to don.
The HEAD Escape Set is simply pulled over the head and the internal oronasal mask positioned to cover the wearer’s nose and mouth.
The EEBD Escape Set is simple too – once removed from the storage case and hung around the wearer’s neck, they simply insert the mouth piece and position the nose clip before pulling the hood over their head(if required).
